Recycling Service
We now offer a complete recycling service; providing special sacks for you to put your recycling waste into. Sacks can be ordered and delivered along with your normal RED BOX delivery. Simply throw all your recycling into our sacks and we'll arrange the collection for you.
What we can recycle
90-95% of all your office waste can be thrown into one of our mixed recycling sacks. We offer 4 sizes of sack from small to extra large. Papers, cards, plastics, glass and metals including drink cans & food tins can all be thrown into the one sack making it super convenient and easy to use. Cardboard boxes, because of their shape and size are better taped together and a recycling sticker applied to the bundle rather than put into a sack.
Special recycling
There is some waste which requires special handling like toners, batteries, cds/dvds and electronic items. Simply order the appropriate sack from us and we’ll take care of the collection. Alternatively you can return used toner cartridges back to your RED BOX driver for recycling.
Confidential waste paper
Our confidential recycling sacks made from heavy-duty plastic are designed specifically to take confidential waste paper. We’ll arrange collection from inside your premises before transporting the paper to a secure shredding partner. For each collection we can provide a Certificate of Destruction with a unique ID number.
Waste we can’t recycle
Food including tea bags & coffee grounds, textiles, rubber, garden waste, paints and wood. Though we can’t recycle this waste at present we can collect it once you’ve thrown it into one of our waste sacks and transport it to a local landfill site in Essex.
Important stuff
Our recycling service is only available to businesses with a London postcode and 25+ employees. Excluding confidential waste which needs to be supervised at all times, we can only collect sacks from the outside of premises.

What happens to your recycling waste
The mixed recycling sacks are taken to Bywaters’ facilities in Bow, London. During 2007, Bywaters invested £7 million installing a modern Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) which is the largest and newest undercover dry recyclable MRF in London with a capacity of 250,000 tonnes per annum. It generates 15 different material streams for recycling and all your mixed recycling sacks will be sent to this facility.
